Great article thanks! Once upon a time I also thought that writing a good article every so often would be enough to flood my blog with traffic. But you also need 'buzz' which is the Ingredient X.....! Having said that, buzz will only surround great content so the trick is to master the art of both!
I'll stay tuned....

We thank you all for sharing how you felt when you lost a family friend/member which is what our loving pets become in our homes. We lost our little dog PeeWee,8yrs old. on April 11, 2008 and while we were trying to understand his sudden loss, our gorgeous Melamute, which I think I spelled wrong; also got sick all of a sudden, we think out of loneliness from missing PeeWee, he also did not return home from the Vet. He passed May 24th 2008, 4yrs old., just one month apart. We can't stop missing them. Our 13yr old, black also, cat Mickie, keeps us going, and she knows she is our little queen. They all slept together, so now she has to sleep by us. Thank you for letting me share this; not everyone understands our loss. Always, Josie

Hey Tammie,

I'll cover this in the near future but for now, you can automate your account so that you follow people immediately after they follow you. I am using Tweetlater for that. As for getting 5, 6, 7 or more tweets all in a row from just one user? Here's the scoop on that. Most times it will note in light gray where the feed came from. If it came from a service like Tweetlater then it will say Tweetlater. I stopped using Tweetlater for my feeds because they sent out feeds by the dozen and I hated doing to people the exact same thing that annoyed me when on the receiving end. That being said, I found Hootsuite which rarely sends out too many tweets in a row. As for anyone that let's successive tweeting go on, I just unfollow. I figured it out so that I could be courteous to my followers yet keep providing good content all day long. The least I figure is that they can too!

There are two directions you can go. Follow the people you admire and know what they know. Then follow the people they follow and know what they want to know. But that is all one direction really. Up stream. In the other direction are the followers. Follow them and you may find you have a better following following you.

Hey JL,
Thank you for the post, very appreciated. I had no idea you could 'search dot twitter dot com'. That's cool and I will use that. And I also have put the tip of following mentors into practice and it got me 33 new followers overnight (I guess people believe that success follows success) and it's still adding fairly steadily. Looking forward to your next post, and by chance, will you be covering what to do about people (who follow you, so you return the favor and follow the) who just tweet link after link after link, sometimes 5-7 tweets at a time. I know the obvious is to stop following, but is there an alternative? I'm a newbie so I'm wondering if there's some type of "twitter summary tool"

Who said animals are not part of the family? Just last year I had to put down my best friend. We ran together, played together, hide-n-seek, he protected us. I will miss him dearly.

In the same year I had put down another friend, his name was Rascal. Need I say more, the birds, squirrels, cats feared him.

I have ran out of names for your pets, the last cat that found us is called "Number 5"

God Bless,

Ha ha ha JL! Boy this rings a bell with my wife (78) and I (80)

About 20 years ago I rescued a little black kitten from an alley we were living in the CBD of Melbourne (Australia). I used to carry him around under my jumper, and he followed me around, and was a great friend. Tragically, when we took him to our inner city town house, he was not used to suburbia, went out into the street, and was run over by a car.

We currently have a female 'tortoise shell' cat that was found in a hessian bag in a park and given to my daughter, who passed it on to us because of her J.O.B. She is a Vice Principal of a TAFE College.

Our current cat is just like your little fellow; she sits on our keyboards, sleeps on the bed, and generally 'controls' us!
