This week we took a look at John Chow’s Email Marketing Guide Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.  I don’t want to rehash everything, you’ll have to visit his site to get all of the details but I do want to note a few key callouts and a few of the essentials that you absolutely cannot be overlooking.

  • Your list will be the foundation of your business – all things can come and go but you will always have your list
  • Don’t delay, get started building your list immediately


  • Invest in an inexpensive (NOT FREE) email marketing  autoresponder tool
  • Give value in exchange for your readers information – if you are not providing value why would anyone want to hear from you???
  • Use multiple tactics for building your list, even within the same site
  • Your autoresponder is a sales funnel
  • Utilize your autoresponder series functionality from day one to build relationships, promote and sell
