What did you accomplish today? More specifically, what did you accomplish for your business today?
Today, I did jack squat. No productivity at all!
Sure, I researched a bunch of software on the forums. Then I bought a bunch of software. Granted, everything that I did fits into the grand scheme of things but I did not do anything to move the business forward.
I killed some time in the office reading some killer Jay Abraham stuff. I researched software out the ass and then I bought a bunch of software.
Did I sell anything or market my business at all today?!?! Hell no! Why not? I couldn’t even tell you. I had a few things that I definitely was going to get done this evening but I pissed around and didn’t do anything.
Now, over the past two weeks I have captured a major portion of my knowledge in mind maps. I hired someone to help market my sites and am on the verge of hiring a second person and I created blueprints for my marketing system that we can duplicate for most projects.
But did I do anything today, nope. And that is frustrating. But, it’s late and I have to travel tomorrow for a family wedding.
Will I be working this weekend? You bet.
Monday kicks off my 90 day, ultra focused, income generating blitz and I have to be ready.
I’ll keep you posted every step of the way, but for now, I need to get some rest!
YOUR TAKEAWAY: Follow your plan. I planned on getting a few specific marketing tasks done today and I did not execute. I got sidetracked and did not stick to my strategic plan. Ultimately, the only one that suffers is you (or me in this case). Just doing it now will save you time and pain down the road. I have a big family weekend kicking off tomorrow and instead of spending some down time researching software, I’ll be spending a few hours each day working. All because I did the research and surfing today when I really should have been getting some quality work done. We’ll talk more about this over the course of time because it is something that we all fall prey to. I have gotten much better at leaving the distractions behind and becoming ultra focused but today I slipped up. Oh well, that’s what tomorrow’s for, right?
